Phase II Awardee Events
Aimed at improving the commercialization outcome of DOE SBIR/STTR funded technologies, the DOE SBIR/STTR programs office is excited to announce the introduction of two types of Phase II Awardee events. All active* DOE SBIR/STTR Phase II, Phase IIA, Phase IIB and Phase IIC awardees are eligible to participate in these virtual events.
Phase II Workshops
Virtual workshops focused on topics related to commercialization that are typical areas of weakness for SBIR/STTR companies. These workshops will be held quarterly. Held in early December, the inaugural workshop, Commercialization and the Power of Partnering, included presentations from industry stakeholders (Exelon, 3M, SK Ventures and Henkel) and a VC panel with representatives from Early Charm Ventures, E8 Ventures and Clean Energy Ventures. The workshop was well received with 100% of the attendees that provided feedback indicating that they found the general session informative and useful.
December 6 registrants voted on topics they would like to see covered in future workshops. Check back for more details on the FY23 workshops and how to register:

Strategic Partner Introductions
Organized by technology and/or industry, virtual pitch sessions provide the opportunity for Phase II awardees to present their technology solutions to stakeholders from industry and the investment community. It is envisioned that pitch sessions will take place on Tuesdays in April/May and in August/September. Prior to the pitch session, participating Phase II awardees will receive coaching and singularly, practice presenting their pitch.
While the DOE Office of SBIR/STTR programs will invite relevant stakeholders to attend the pitch sessions, there is no guarantee of attendance of and/or resultant partnership with stakeholders. It will be up to the individual participants to nurture and develop strategic relationships between interested parties.
Registration for the DOE SBIR/STTR Partner Pitch Program (P3) closed on February 3rd. FY23 pitch session schedules will be released shortly.
